Mother

Forgive me for all the pranks
I pulled on you when I was
Just a youth going to school. . .
My teen hormones kick in, I thought
I was cool, I figured you were old,
You weren't hip to my moves but
Mother you were from the old school. . .
Like crazy glue you were on top of my
Every move. . . Considering all the talking I made
You do, check me out Mom, some did
Get through. . .
I am all woman and I am so much like you. . .
I didn't grow up to be a lawyer or a doctor like you
Might have wanted me to, but your eyes tell me that
It don't make a difference you're still proud
That I am your child. . .
Even if I had become a drug addict or practiced bad
Habits you're not the kind of mother who would
Say "I've had it". . .
Your prayers have been answered all through these
Years, God listens with His ears to your tears. . .
It's easy for me to tell you not to worry your
Child will see your love and change in a hurry
But you're a mother you have to worry. . .
Don't lose your faith, cry one more tear for that
Child who makes your heart ache, God won't be late
And that's no lie, He'll be there for your child
Right on time. . . As I grew, the errors I made throughout life taught
Me to understand your words. . .
Mother your children have to make mistakes, in order to learn or have
Wisdom like you do. . . Dream our dreams no matter how silly it may seem. . .
Hear our plea, don't shatter our dreams before the time is due. . .
If our dreams don't come through, be there for us like you always do. . . COMPLIMENT to you Mom CONGRATULATIONS you did it all by yourself. . .
After our father died, nobody could look at us and tell that a
Single woman raised us all by herself. . .
I watch you stretch a dollar bill to pay all the bills and still had
Change left to give us our meals. . .
Mother you could have been an accountant or a financial whiz. . .
You had seven bank accounts and those were your kids. . .
Without us you could've accomplished big things. . .
You didn't abort me, my life meant more to you than yours. . .
I can visualize it all, how you put your life on hold on the day
You brought me into this world. . .
In English my words are THANK YOU MOM but the language of
Gratitude which my heart speaks is beyond words. . .
Even if I had the cash there's no way I could pay you back. . .
Maybe one day I can make you take life easy and relax. . .
Hopefully I can get you a home of your won, if I can't Mom it's
The thought that counts. . .
Keep in mind that you're the only important woman in my world you're
My Diamonds, you're my pearl if I had the money I would give you the world. . .
I love you Mom and all I have to give you are my words. . .
