The Time of Terror
by Japman Aneja

I saw the sun rise from beneath the ground,
And bring a time of sunshine and cheer around,
When children played around and the nature danced to its own beat,
When birds sung their melodies and butterflies came to greet,

But this joy soon faded away and the fun seemed to cease,
When the clouds stormed over and the rain destroyed the nature’s peace,
The children stopped playing and nature showed its rage,
The sky growled, the thunder rumbled and everyone returned to their cage,

The People's Champion - in Trump's own words
by Dr. Robert Ippaso

I get it
I finally get it
It took a while
But now I'm showing my style.

To every home
With somber tone
My daily briefings
Broadcast my teachings;

The Sound of Silence
by Nkwachukwu Ogbuagu

Splashing down liquid voices,
a troubled peace of silence enveloped
the fragile land.

Here comes Queen Lockdown with her septic flowers.
The church bells chime mutely,
with refined silence and hypnotic horror.
Funerals and weddings merged like companies,
Counting on numbers frugally.

Fear and Purpose – in a time of Covid lockdown
by Dr. Robert Ippaso

Shuttered windows, peering eyes
Furtive glances, children's cries,
Broken spirits, sleepless nights,
Empty streets, lonely lights.

Where once lived the sounds of laughter
Lively cafes filled with bluster,
Muted echoes share the void,
Empty, sullen, unemployed.

Government Poem
by James V Daniels

But like, we don't even need a government, is all I'm saying.
If all a government does is deregulate the companies and take way our freedoms- then our priorities need straitening.

And sure, they put police on our streets and pay for our schools. But those police have two jobs and the schools have no cash, and my friends are on zero hours contracts, they can't wait for their money back.
So there's a little something for you all... To think about.

But that's not the problem, more like an overture.
You see, the problem is that folks like you and me rarely turn out to be:
Fruit pickers; warehouse workers; shop fitters; joiners; carpenters; scaffolders; solicitors- wait!
That last one- maybe.

Broken or Mended
by Pallavi Surana

Broken things, Mended pencils.
Strings with knots;
Thoughts with confusion.
Lately, all of this has been liberating.

To have experienced the process,
to have traversed the path!
To have finally accepted,
That, when life expires, all that matters is the "Journey"!

The pandemic:Covid-19
by Khushi Mehra

Wondering how uncertain life is
The whole world has come to a standstill
Do I need to mention the reason for it?
Its none other than the pandemic Covid-19,isn’t it?
No more parties, no more hangouts
Practice social distancing thats the only way out.
Millions of people are suffering
Thousands of them are dying
What has it done to us,I am still wondering
Some are fighting for their lives in those isolated rooms
