The Lady in Green
by Evelyn Judy Buehler

I was a zealous fashion designer, whose elegant styles were ever in vogue,
Like the rainbow time of cool, damp evening, that elegant colors go rogue.

Lost in my work, I took it seriously, for creating something lovely is an art,
And worldly people respond the best, to what comes purely from the heart.

Like the sight of spicy rose, so arresting, because it bears the loving touch,
And is one of the huge, little things in life, which we find we need so much!

I was happy and socially sought after, like surfers seek swift, green waves,

A Model for Our Times
by Evelyn Judy Buehler

As the sun shone in southern skies, I was finally on my vacation,
And I turned the pages of a magazine, with new fashion creations.

I lounged beside the resort pool, in a straw hat and sunglasses,
Sipping an exotic cold drink, as clouds drifted by in puffy masses.

The fronds of the tall palm trees, waved gently in the warm breeze,
And looking at the divine fashions, I had the strangest fantasies!

I wished I were one of the flawless models, upon those glitzy pages,

Red and Pink
by Evelyn Judy Buehler

flamingos and sunsets
cherries and maple leaves
almond blossoms in sunshine
lipstick of high fashion
plummy plum tree blossoms
tulips and juicy watermelon
a flashy sports car at dawn
twilight pearls and rubies
bleeding hearts among roses
pomegranate and grapefruit

The Woodville Halls Soul Boys
by Carl Halling

Soon after I’d paid
My sixty
Or seventy pence,
I found myself
In what I thought
Was a miniature London.
I saw girls
In chandelier earrings,
In stiletto heels,
Wearing evening

Positively Stunning
by Evelyn Judy Buehler

I used to be obsessed with fashion, caring far too much about clothes,
Like the sun whenever he's coming and going, is striking vanity's pose.

I lavished absurdly upon my wardrobe, in excess of what was practical,
Like the glittering rainbow colors, proffer more than what is passable!

Though I wasn't an awful person, in this one area, I admit I was vain,
As the seasons, once departed, flaunt beautiful faces again and again.

I regularly read fashion magazines, and kept up with current trends,

High Fashion
by Evelyn Judy Buehler

On deep green runways
prance the pinks, plums, reds and blues
Photogenic blooms!
Much beauty under teal skies
Then dusk scents, Belladonna.

Velvet petals, famed
for rich matchless, twirling styles
at springtime's debut
Mass unaffected pretties

Dressed to Chill
by Evelyn Judy Buehler

A huge yellow moon is glimmering, and a chill wind's in ghostly trees.
This night was made for magic, so we'll get dressed in our very best!
Sable black lipstick for me, and a smoky gray for my brooding eyes,
And lovely rosy red makeup for you, crowned by a silky, orange wig.
The obsidian night is still very young, and we will be gone for hours,
Like juicy fruit patiently ripening, in locations of sunshine and green.
My sleek, midnight black dress, and matching pointy hat, will be a hit,
And your red nose and bright polka dots, will be the height of fashion!
Crows are cawing, the cats are screeching, and bats are flying north-
The luxurious party is waiting, and will be filled with the best dressed.

Spring Fashions
by Evelyn Judy Buehler

Spring's latest colorful fashions are out,
All along the winding, lush garden walk.
Pastels and darks in a season turnabout,
And new fragrances are the flowery talk!

All along the winding, lush garden walk,
There are blooms both large and small,
And new fragrances are the flowery talk,
As trumpet vines wander the stone wall.
