Ire and Fire

When mind and blood are infected
Injected by viruses of wanton politics,
Anarchy rules the roost,
Inhumanity ruins the heart;
Law hides its eyes behind the back
As screams flare up from the pyre.
When monster of corruption gobbles
The system, society and its people,
Humanity loses its beauty

The flowers in my room

In a moment or a fit of inspiration
Great happiness and exhilaration
Each an elated precious bloom
I purchased flowers for my room
Who knew the vase I carefully selected
Clear clean glass never neglected
Over time would transform to a tomb
