Trying to comb her hair,

From dolorous thoughts that plague my mind,
And in my hand, a solace I hold tight
That frees me from the chains that bind.

I imbibe the elixir of numbness
And feel its effects take hold,
As the tendrils of addiction caress
My body, heart, and soul.
