In a smoky room, where the shadows play,
You’re searching for direction, lost along the way.
The devil grins, whispering sweet lies,
Promising glory wrapped in disguise.
Who's gonna save your soul tonight?
The preacher with his holy light?
The politician with his silver tongue?
Or the celebrity, forever young?
Is it the singer with a heart full of pain?

Die Stille zwischen den Herzschlägen
trägt mehr Wahrheit als Worte.
Ich frage den Wind,die Sterne,
doch nur die Zeit Weiß es.
Sie schaut ohne zu blinzeln,
misst ohne Gnade,
eilt nie,
vergisst nie.
