Have made you old and me older
Drugs and mental illness
Drugs and mental illness interspersed with accusation, rationalization, retaliation
Arrests, hearings, warrants
Missed opportunities and stagnation
Suicide attempts and hospitalization
I could go on
But it started with drugs
......
The 7 Day Rat Race

Racing towards the weekend, Mom is full of joy.
A hard week’s worth of work, all worth it and so
she can see her little boy.
Once Saturday morn hits,
they play outside all day in the sun.
The boy laughs and wonders,
Why can’t every day be this fun?
They go and get ice cream
......

I like to remember the nights of fun we had making em
Some times they’re angels and sometimes they’re Devils
Sometimes they listen sometimes they rebel
Some days they play together and some days they argue for fun
Some days they want Daddy some days it’s all about mum
