Tiptoe the path we tread,
Throughout our journey
From birth,
Childhood,
Youthfulness,
Old age till our death!
Each moment,
In every way,

Millions of legs, tight and stout, step out
Of their weak doorsteps
With their empty but mighty hands;
They never shirk working anywhere,
In any way, or so many ways
In any circumstances
Melting even Dallol, the hottest
With their cool-mindedness
Or heating even Oymyakon, the coldest
With their hot blood.

एक शक्सियत का फेर अब्र है
उस लालसा के काबू में
जो उँगलियों पे ठहरा है कई हसरतें कैद कर के
धागों सी है ये मुलाकातें
जो जब टूट जायें मालूम नहीं
उन आखों को याद कर लेते हम अगर दीदार मुकम्मल करते
कहने को तो सिर्फ दो ही बातें थी
जो आज फिर नहीं कह सके और लौट आये
उलझनों में लिपट कर रह गए
