A Birds Cry for Freedom
by Saleh Ben Saleh

I have been encaged all my life for mans pleasure and fun,
my precious life had sadly ended before it even begun.

In human terms I have been enslaved so man could hear my song.
Behind the bars I am to stay in a place I don’t belong.

On saddened tunes I hop and play as I sing a moaners song,
I am just a pet and so they say in a world of greedy strong.

I seem amused to some surprised but deep I hide my cries.

Baby Blue-Nursery Rhyme
by Evelyn Judy Buehler

My baby blue, why do you keep on crying,
All dressed up, satin ribbon in your hair?
The sun is up and red birdies are flying,
And a fluffy bunny is on the porch stair.

There are colorful toys, filled with joys,
Our frisky kitty is waiting eagerly to play,
And laughter is, after all, the best noise,
So let your pretty smile chase blues away!

The Magic Of Thy Tear
by Josias Homely

Oh no, I would not see thee weep,
Yet highly have I prized thy tear;
At night upon the darken'd deep
I've thought of it the gloom to cheer—
The tear thou didst at parting shed,
That talisman's full spell to show,
I've fought amidst the friendly dead,
And fearless dared the living foe.

And when, becalm'd, the waters slept,

CV of the Dead.
by Urvashi Khandelwal

Won't lie on that single page,
Because more than achievements are my fears.
Lower than my grades is my love for me.
But why would you ask that
You are only concerned about the B grade in mathematics, I got four years ago.
And yes, you may tell me that it's okay to get a B and ask me to not cry.
Tell me that I have got different qualities.
Tell me how I fit for some XYZ Job.
But No. Don't stop me and let me cry.
Let me cry for the 33 marks I got.

white water rafts
by Lara de Almeida

White water rafts stream down my face,
thud-thud, thud-thud
They leave cuts on my eyes and scrapes on my cheeks.
Door shut, heart exposed. Fear settles in.
thud-thud, thud-thud
I push to knock it out, but I have no energy, no control.
I shake and tremble and fall over, again.
A fire awakens to kill my soul. please, it burns.
Clenched fists, I suppress a muffled help.
thud-thud, thud.

To See You Cry
by Tom Cameron

It breaks my heart to see you cry
An empty bottle and a letter to yourself
It breaks my heart to see you cry

To hold you is to be at home
Slowly but surely you are coming back to life
To hold you is to be at home

No-one knows what you mean
As it doesn't mean anything but to me

I am hell
by Bogdan Dragos

he could count the major events
in his life on a
mangled hand's fingers
But this was one of them. The day she took him
to church.
So that's what girlfriends are for.

But he didn't like the church
didn't like the songs
didn't like the preacher and the preaching
