shrug off this dis-ease
by Rikske Kessner

'shrug off this dis-ease'

Understand the tilt,
the tension within this frame,
The way the dis-ease
flickers like a dying flame.

I'll shrug the weight of it,
the 'how' and the 'why, '
If you'll just be the metric

Sick Morning
by Beatrice Knox

Blinds separate from each other
Light sneaks in
Touching the walls of my room
Touching my closed eyes
I open
Ruby red in my face
Brush it away to get a clear view
Of the eggshell ceiling I see everyday
I sit up
Stretch my sleeping bones

Pomelo
by Kimani Hare

An even thicker rind of bitter pith,

Estranged from the serenity that lies outside its comprehension.

For what resides within is a supple flesh dissonant to its confines,

Exuding a sweet nectar that remains clothed in the abstract.

Feather
by Leo McManus

Feather-light and soft,
Drifting gently on the breeze,
A gift from the sky.

Graceful and serene,
Floating effortlessly down,
A symbol of peace.

Voice of the Voiceless
by Ayatullah Nurjati

In twilight’s fading glow, a voice stirs unseen,
It is the song of those from shadows gleaned.

To the powers that sleep in golden halls,
Hear now the cry from those who crawl.

The Outcome
by Nkwachukwu Ogbuagu

Calm.
Grinding gently the ingredients of patience.
The somnolent waves mourn.

There are no tunnels under the seas,
But vistas cut open through
Creeping lights foreshadowed by the
Debris of epochal wrecks.

Calm.
