Petals & Pigsty
by Blossom Brewer

Petals & Pigsty

The tendrils of my hair fall down to my feet,
Covering my body in a curly black silk.
In this form, I grasp my mortality,
Born to live and die in vain.
I keep count of the petals I pick.
Flowing down towards my toes in a synchronized dance.
The beauty of nature now turning to stare me in the eyes.
A wounded fawn,

Everything I thought I was
by Daniel Ryan Cotler

I watched myself in the reflection of ashes,
a silhouette of everything I thought I was.
The person I used to be
naive, trusting, eager to give
smiled back,
a ghost of a life I no longer recognize.

I thought I was unbreakable,
but their words were hammers,
their silences were chisels,

The Hidden Self
by Sir Lewis Morris

I KNOW not if a keener smart
Can come to finer souls than his
Who hears men praise him, mind or heart,
For something higher than he is.

Who fain would say, 'Behold me, friends,
That which I am, not what you deem,
A thing of low and narrow ends,
Sordid, not golden as I seem.

An imaginary voyage
by Sonali Goel

I let a ship to sail
through the ocean of my thoughts.

BEYOND,Into the light
by Ariella Lawal

The world behind-a shadowed cage,
A book still waiting to turn the page...
A child of dust, with a soul untamed,
A spark within, though still unnamed.

Beyond the breakage, beyond the tears,
She rises,facing her fears.
Her soul reaches out, a pull unseen,
The world awaits just beyond her dreams.

Behind Their Eyes
by Kailee Hill

Is a beautiful world
With all the colors of a sunset
Shines beam down on my face
To greet me

The orange jumper they’re wearing embraces me
As the wind blows in my heart
Why can’t I be a part of their world?
Why can’t I eat passion fruit at the beach
As the waves lap onto the sand?
