Shades of Grey

When I was young,
I believed
That everything was right or wrong;
Good and bad; Yes or no;
Black or white.
It was easy to think that way.
How clever I thought I was
To be so enlightened and decisive,
To have an opinion on everything,
And to think that I was right.

Well-Cast Seeds

Patience, Care, Love, and Nurture
Sunshine, water, and rich soil
Each needed for deep strong roots
Many struggle to reach beyond
Moved from pot to pot, their roots grow inward and choke
Development and potential thwarted
Lucky few are root-trimmed and pruned
Survivors put into loose and fertile ground
Reaching, grasping, and groping - finding their home
Roots grow wide and strengthen
......
A purpose agreed upon as a whole

I love peace
And peace is how I love
It's time to release
The grudge through which I drudge
It is not a singular affliction
Though donated and added to an addiction
We all must take steps into uncertainty
Though I desire pondering unknown

Time and Memory

We are trapped in the past, oblivious to the fact, today is eternity.
The light of the past can only be used to illuminate the futures darkness
Today’s eternity provides the opportunity of perpetual growth
And to utilize the past’s light to travel through the darkness of the future
The Box

A rattle; a shudder.
I turn and face... nothing.
For a fleeting moment,
Confusion reigns.
I pause, then pick up
The threads of today.
A life - infused with colour,
Discourse, demands and distractions -
Drowns out what I know deep down is real.
Later, in the stillness,
