You left me in the rain

like a wound in the sky.
You left me behind on my own.
The wind clawed at my face,
and the water drowned the last of my warmth.
Each heartbeat was thunder.
Each breath,

De wolken scheurden open
als een wond in de lucht.
Je liet me achter,helemaal alleen.
De wind krabde aan mijn gezicht,
en het water verdronk het laatste restje warmte.
Elke hartslag was donder.
Elke ademtocht, een gevecht om te blijven staan
waar jij was verdwenen.

Anchor to dead weight

I’m confused. Since when do you need space to deal with your stuff? i used to be your space. I used to be the one you go to. I used to be your anchor. I used to be the boat which carries you to the other side. What has changed? Did I say something wrong? Or maybe you just found another shoulder to lean on. I know everybody deserves time for themselves but that’s not the problem. The problem is you’re just taking time away from me. I have become your burden. I who once was the one thing that’s helping stand your ground have now become dead weight that needs to be shed for you to continue your journey. The question remains, what has changed?
