In a world without partiality
In a world without prejudgment
In a world without aloofness
In a world without distrust
In a world without preconceived ideas
In a world without indifference
In another world, we could be friends.
I am a sidewalk
one upon whom your
feet dragged heavy and
wet and tired
and I wonder where you
are going
and where you're coming
from
......
Awake is the day, and I exist
Therein aloof life’s fleeting hours
Whose currents float me out of bed,
My brick mouth blank, riding mundane streams.
So what is the day if we dream through the night?
Its leather vines wrap but go unfelt on skin.
Some toss, others snore, all coated in black,
While I scour the walls for a lick of dread.
