A Real Cliffhanger

It was tranquil sultry August, and the birds were singing,
The insects were all buzzing, and toad frogs were springing.

And I was deep in the mountains, taking snapshots of nature;
For I felt I was a good photographer, though only an amateur.

A few of my best photographs, were winners of local contests,
Which encouraged and inspired me, to keep doing my very best.

So I wandered into the golden day, seeking the perfect shot;

Stop.
Please do not come closer
for I fear that I could lose you x
In one step, you fall off a cliff and plunge yourself into my despair.
The dark hole that tries to fill itself with lustful encounters
and whiskey neat.

I tried to warn you.
As if the beware sign was erased with the love
you tried to paint me x

descending fast
shadows reveal a
purple martin plunging

fluttering like the wind
drifting in sunshine
petals dance too

A Past Pastime

Humpty Dumpty lived in make-believe land, like dreamy shadows get long;
And he dwelt in a house near a wall, among merry, crimson, oriole throngs.

He had a figure equally rotund and jolly, and was therefore loved by many;
And made his living as an apt teacher, as Thursday learns from Wednesday.

He helped the spirited children to learn, and also helped the children laugh,
As roses in the sky govern dawn's path, in pearl moon's, riotous aftermath.

Folks far and near visited Humpty, beneath azure skies of frequent friends;
