Dear Dad
by Grayson Barath

I cannot bring back the happy moments frozen in a picture frame.
Looking back on it, I see how badly you have changed.

The crying, shouting, the pure rage.
Every day I am terrified that I'll be like you.
But my fiances remind me that that would never be true.

I bite my lip, I consume myself
I don’t see whatever it is they are seeing.
I am my only lover, but I hate me more than I love anything.
