The air is thick beneath the house.
Wood groans though no one walks above.
Dust clings to forgotten skin.
A jar tips-no wind,no breath-only silence
that watches.

Nails rust in beams shaped like ribs.
Shadows stretch before the light
finds them.
Something has waited longer than names.
