The Cleansing

Slithering strands of ribboned gold,
Ply the roiled and unbridled sky.
Quick jagged hands of invasive bold,
Strike in frenzy...without reply.
Dark, heavy clouds seize their chance
Draw curtain of ebony across dismal sky.
Heaven's rumble converts to an eerie dance
Spawning of erratic beat makes rhythm cry
Still life stays mute, awed by quickened birth
Of nature's feral foment passing noisily by.
Golden arrows, pelt the surrendering earth
Into submission, wending path back to sky.
Fervency abating...storm's left its rain
Calming stillness, peeks and emerges to explore.
An ethereal state belies Mother Nature's reign
She has renewed herself in grand welkin form
Via...soul shaking thunderstorm!
