What Can I Do To Teach You

As I think about your coming birth, And the innocence you'll have.
I think about what I can do, To teach you about life.

What can I do to teach you? Oh little child so blest.
How each day brings another chance, For you to do your best.

What can I do to teach you? That an apple bright and red.
Was made by God to look at, And nourish you when fed.

What can I do to teach you? Your letters, A to Z.
How when thy are placed together, Can be words of poetry.

What can I do to teach you? My little child of love,
That the rainbow hanging in the sky, Is a promise from God above.

What can I do to teach you? When you lift your voice to sing.
That the melodies you utter, Were made by God, The King.

What can I do to teach you? When you lie down to rest.
That God is watching over, And will keep you safely blessed.

What can I do to teach you? That the sun will rise each day.
It's brightness ever shining, To light and warm your way.

What can I do to teach you? That the moon is for a reason.
To light at night, the heavenly skies, And control our yearly seasons.

What can I do to teach you? Of love for all mankind.
How peace on earth will never be, If hate should fill our minds.

What can I do to teach you? Oh little child so blest.
That your mom and dad aren't perfect, But will try their very best.

They'll make your life seem perfect, As perfect as can be.
With lots of love and hugs and toys, And a loving family.

What can I do to teach you? Oh little child so blest.
How the joy of your forthcoming, Will bring us happiness.
