In The Darkness

As I lay in the darkness
Wide awake
Trapped in my thinking
As I feel unwanted

Selfish thinking I know
Desiring the embrace
Though what I lack
The pain it brings

Seeing other bodies
As they connect
The man with his clutch
On the woman who needs nothing more

Yet in the soulless city
Where we step in line
In need of a fabricated thrill
Forgotten the point

To ride on the frame
With her sliding against
My broken body
As we journey together

Grazing upon the skin
Serene flesh
Like sand on a vacant shore
Staring into the eyes of the sea

Our bodies coalesce
For real and for life
As we pull eachother deeper
Where our pain fades

However, this is all just fantasy
As only I can dream
In truth. we’ve become
So separated by the haze

So, still
In the silence
I remain solitary
In the darkness
