The Struggle To Be

A rainbow, gone after the sunshine
And the rain.
A valley with no hill to claim.
A fire under the cauldron
But the cook gets the fame.
The stalk on the corn field
That turns to hay.
A crab in the barrel
That yearns for the light of day.
Such is the struggle to be
A worker bee in a hive
Who fights to stay alive.
The mouse that rings the bell
To say all's well.
It takes many ripples to make a wave.
Beware! Or life could be an endless struggle
To the grave.
