A Life Between the Lines

The door was opened
As another was closed
Rather, slammed in the face
To a life that was severed
Cut
And left behind
It had its beauty
So many flaws
That refused to be fixed
Shoving me out of that life
Into this
New, behold that feeling
Of change
Fresh, unusual, uncanny
Those feelings
Yet the sinking thought
Knowing
This door will close too
Maybe not soon
But later on
Because
Haven't we all learned
The best things in life
Are those that we lose
