Solitude

I sat alone on yonder hill,
I'd left such chaos behind.
No sound disturbed my reverie,
And peace overwhelmed my mind.

I gazed in awe at distant spires
The vista a joy to behold.
So much beauty, so much green
That the sunshine had dappled with gold.

And as I surveyed this beauty,
Devoid of trouble and strife.
I knew what a difference the tiniest cog,
Could make in the Wheel of Life.

No longer did I feel alone
For everyone has worth.
And even insignificant me
Was part of this great earth.

With faith anew I clambered down
With just one single thought.
That compared with all blessings
My problems were as nought.
