Grandchildren

Little grandchildren, Lord,
Sweet grandchildren -
What joy they bring to our hearts.
Eyes filled with wonder,
Hearts filled with love,
What joy they bring to our hearts.
Little arms around us cling,
Sweet kisses to our cheeks do bring.
A small body text to us presses,
With their hugs
"Oh, so big" to receive.
Sweet grandchildren, Lord,
Wonderful grandchildren, Lord,
It's like being a young mom and dad again.
Seeing that smile like their mother's,
A turn of the head and glance like their father's,
Whey they were so young like these.
Precious grandchildren, Lord,
With their love so freely giv'n.
It comes from You, we know.-
Yes, they come from You, we know.
Thank You for the chance
To share in their lives
(As we did in their moms' and dads')
If only for a little while.
What a blessing, dear Jesus,
You've given to us,
These sweet and wonderful
Grandchildren of ours.
Golden locks, bonnie of face,
Dimpled, rosy cheeks,
A sweet smile upon their faces.
Twinkling eyes, trusting eyes,
Serious eyes to look to us
For joy, comfort, learning.
How wonderful to share once more
With little ones such as these.
Thank You, Lord, for grandchildren,
Especially these
You've given to my husband and me.
