The Nightingale's Song

Did you hear the Indian Nightingale sing?
Ah! a sweet melody a little bird rings!
High above the willow tree,
Beautiful song heralding early morn.
God created tiny noises in the night
Chirping songs of crickets in flight!
Gentle breeze rustling through tall pine trees.
Air is crisp -- Not a drop of rain in sight!
In the distance a jackal howls!
Echoing around hill and dale.
All is still once again with the world.
A chime of a clock not far away
Ringing one! Two! three, and four!
The nightingale song is no more.
