A STUFFY NOSE - FROSTBIT TOES,
an ulcer in my gut
My wife is three weeks overdue
my bills are in a rut.
Losing my hair, my cupboards bare,
I've forgotten the taste of rum
Ain't got a cent, can't pay my rent,
But I'm still better off than some. I still have my pride and dignity,
and here's one thing you can bet,
you won't find me in a breadline,
I'll work for what I get. Knee deep in snow, my car won't go,
my taxes ain't been paid,
arthritis in my fingers,
too old to learn a trade.
I'm losing weight, broke my plate
and some folks think I'm dumb,
but I'll tell you one thing,
I feel like a king,
for I'm still better off than some. I still have my pride and my dignity,
and here's something you can bet,
I won't be taking a handout,
I'll work for what I get.
