The Soul Of A Slave

Do I have the soul of a slave?
No! my soul cries out to be free.
Do I have the heart of a slave?
No! my heart cries out to be free.
Do I have the soul of a slave.
No! I am a free man.
I am a free woman.
My children are free.
My chains bound me no longer.
Nor do they bound the generations
to come.
I have the soul of a preacher.
I have the soul of a teacher.
Hear my words.
I have the soul of a singer.
Hear my songs.
I have the soul of an artist.
See me create.
I have the soul of a doctor.
I make sick people well.
I have the soul of a lawyer.
I fight for Justice.
I have the soul of a master builder.
I construct buildings that touch the sky.
My soul is not the soul of a slave.
My soul is free.
I am free to be what I want to be.
I am free to build my dreams.
I am free to create what my heart desires.
I am free forever.
I am free.
Freedom is precious.
Freedom is love.
Freedom is life.
I lift my voice for freedom.
I am free while I live.
When I leave this earth I will
still be free.
