Ile A L'Autre Cote De L'Eau

Your silver eyes
Has two faces with reflection

One is like autumn leaves
Or brown sepia photographs
And seem only to dull in death
And sadness of what once was...

The other eye sparkles
Dances magic with all the history of
Gaul bubbling out
And swims in warm southern beaches
Under a boiling smile.
Sometimes you close one eye,
Sometimes the other,
But never do you stare at me
Unblinking across this horizon
I have etched throughout my long years
