Arise Youths

Eight years have come and gone, yet my people still remain blind,
Many a year our leaders shower us with their sugarcoated tongues.
A zillion promises they make now and then, fulfilling none;
Enriching themselves while the poor masses remain indigent.

Poverty in our land has been catapulted, unemployment is now our most High;
A posse of inconsiderate oldies we have as rulers, a bunch of purposeless grandpas.
Need we die before our voices can be heard? Are we even living?
Now and then we pray things be better, but I guess all is but a colossal bummer.

Arise youths, let's embark on our long walk to freedom,
Let's transmute our nation into a worthwhile kingdom.
Our longtime hush has been mistaken for eternal blindness;
Let's arise en masse and move our nation forward.

Together we can make a difference, divided we can't?
Let our conscience not be corrupted by materialism.
Think not only about now but also about the future,
And believe you me your future is in your hands.

'Alzati giovinezza; Votiamo i cattivi leader'
We can't fold our hands and watch them deceive us ad infinitum.
It is time we came back to life and made necessitous changes.
'Aluta continua; Victoria acerta'
Arise Youths!
