hold onto that thought and say
"I am here, " while your head is still in the clouds.

while all the stars surround you and conceal your scars.

while I am still naïve and young and believing.
that the words, "I am here" are enough to give me hope that
one day you will be here.
If only you were here the words, "I am here" wouldn't matter
because the truth would lie in your presence
and the proof in your eyes and footprints.

I'll cling onto that thought for a moment
and assume that the truth of your presence
lies in your words and in my beliefs.
So say, "I am here not in spirit, soul or mind
but rather in the proof of my eyes and footprints."
