I was born in a small town on the Hudson River to parents who were immigrants from Lithuania and Southern Italy. For most of my life I have been a professional violinist, performer and teacher, and finally a university professor of violin. Now, in retirement I run a small scale organic vegetable farm called "Uncle Henry's Garden". I continue to write music and perform as a violinist. I also write poetry.
