Pins And Needles

I caught a glimpse
of myself being beaten by
the dawn's early mourning shadows

Prone in the back seat of
a wheeled chariot painted
a dismal shade of yellow

On my way from one random destination
to the next arriving only to leave always
sailing on the airs winged sea

The perfect portrait of an addict
why has Hades chosen me as his canvas
I don't remember auditioning for the part of
Persephone

But there is so much I don't remember
my mind's best elixir
numbly wandering in the underworld

Perhaps someday they will hang the horned God's masterpiece
In a stone gallery next to a nicely
printed card that reads "Untitled"
