The King and I

There once was a king
Who was pretty funny...
He wore whites tights
And was tight with his money...

His scepter was small
But his ego was big...
He wore sparkling clothes
And sometimes a wig...

His crown was never tarnished
His beard was quite thin...
He always wore it neatly trimmed
To show off his happy grin...

His feathers never ruffled
For he enjoyed a good joke...
We could laugh on for hours
Eating chip dip with artichoke...

But when he was serious
While sitting up on his thrown...
I would tell him funny stories
To which he would often bemoan...

It’s good to have friends
In all the right places...
Especially my favorite king
Who I taught to run the bases...

As we get older and wiser
And our waistlines grow fat...
He’ll forever be my friend
I can always count on that...
