The Dawn

The Dawn whispered a breeze
Played golden red melody
And peeked through the trees
It sang a song of eons past
Of dinosaurs and primordial man
The solar dust, its nets to cast,
Now gone with the morning haze.
Sunlight grows upon the valley once more,
Dims the stars and moon, revealing the Earth again
Like so many sunrises before
And I lay watching, listening with solemn gaze
As the whisper becomes a roar
A luminous crescendo whose beams tap at the window
And dance in through the door.
