The Spark

A spark set in the firmament
Nourished by a divine hand
Responds like an unruly child.
Cared for in its' infancy,
Grows slowly at first
According to a prescribed meter.
Adolescence brings independence.
Free will to reach out
In all directions with fingers or light.
Pulsating and expanding
At a furious rate
Until stepping beyond its' limits
The bonds of space and time
Can no longer hold it.
Then Bang
A Universe is born.
