Adirondack Mountain Sisters

Oh, what tales can you sleeping Mountain Sisters tell,
of ancient times when to the skies your majesty did swell

Could you speak to us of the day, when earliest man first
invaded your domain.

Of the bounty you provided with which you sought to him sustain.

Would you but explain why the Native American was driven from
your view,
By settlers who came at first but a few..

Yes, awaken, look upon us now!

Have we brought you health and happiness, or do you
gaze upon us with scorn,

Knowing full well that you'll still be here
long after we are gone.
