Never again will I Fear the Night

Or the winged devils of the dark one
In their fiery flight
The shadow that sat in the corners of my life
Destroying my heart in its cursed poor plight

Never again will I fear the sound of approaching steps
Nor hide my trembling in madness and its depths
Quite freely I now walk boldly head high in the light
And laughed in victory when the winged devils fled
And in my fear of soul took flight.

Never again will I fear the daily birth of the sun
Nor the sounds of oceans lapping the salty shores as the rivers run
The moon as she coyly drops her dark veil
The reflection of myself in the waters of a haunted well
For now, the shadow that tormented me resides in hell.
