Raindrops on a Petal

I watch you through the cracks in my Venetian
As you skilfully take your seat once again
Upon that vibrant petal
As it longingly awaits each drop of rain.

Your splendour enhanced by the rays of the sun
Is what fuses both you and the petal as one
That thirsty petal will not swallow you up
But it allows you to rest in its care
As its hues gently caress you
This alliance will make you a salient pair.

I watch you through the cracks in my Venetian
And others as they fall as a drizzle
Their fight is to make their journeys end
The same as you and your vibrant friend.
