Again

So happy to see blue skies again
Billowing whites floating along like cotton candy
Thick summer breeze blowing out smoke and haze
So happy to breathe easy once again

Sipping on margaritas - eating chips and guac
You looking so cute in faded red and blue
Conversation flowing as smoothly as tequila and lime
Punctuated by smiles and gentle laughter
We shared our stories, then strolled the trail
Hugging at your car, we said we’d meet again

So, here I sit, holding pencil in hand
Thoughts tumbling out across the page
Emotions, imagination, and memories cascade
Hope and anxiety twirling hand-in-hand once again.
