Above you as you lift your lovely head,
Serene and splendid, newly opening rose,
Breathless I stoop and look into the red,
the dimly glowing deep that you disclose.
So lately proof against the moon's pursuing,
and tightly folded in the virgin bud,
you open gently to the day's warm wooing
your lips to sigh away their maidenhood.
Then sigh the scented breath from lips that part
in double sort to yield and to subdue,
your perfume steals into my very heart,
that has its keeper for a captive too;
and while I search your sweetness from above,
how can I help but dream apon my love
