Biography of Raina Hutchins

My love of writing followed my love of reading from a very young age. I would get lost in my wonderful world of fairy-tales and adventures, which led to me to writing my own little stories and adventures. I was never without a book or a pencil in my hand, in my school bag or under my pillow. I would write my own love stories, which always had a happy ending (obviously), until I fell head over heels in love with a boy and he broke my heart, which led me to write my first poem when I was just 12 years old. The words flowed as I poured my heart out with my pencil, crying the whole time...I understood from then what the phrase “The Pain of a Poet” truly meant. But I still believe in fairy-tales, romance and happy endings – no amount of heartbreak could change that. I have written journals and poems throughout my life...my legacy to leave to the future generations of my family, who although in life will not have met me, but through my writing will feel they know me...
