In The Mirror

In pausing for reflective gaze
Into the looking glass
Precise dimensions thus reversed
In silver foil are cast To see the image that I've loaned
My second self appearing
The one by happenstance I've cloned
Has neither voice or hearing By neither apathy nor scorn
His countenance is burned
In forthright replication
My gaze is thus returned In rightful ways my source of praise
In wrong my lone dissenter
By glass encaged, is thus engaged
To be my silent mentor No piece of mind received in kind
Was given any clearer
Than that from he whose face I see
reflected in the mirror.
