Through my eyes

At four years old, hand in his hand, We walked into a toy-filled land. My sister chose her Barbie bright, But a doctor's set felt just so right. With shining eyes and heart so wide, I saw a dream I couldn't hide. A school shirt white became my coat, A stethoscope of dreams 1 wrote.

His hopes, once paused by life's own tide, Now found a place in me to ride. Through every test and sleepless night, I held his dream, I held it tight. When college doors swung open wide, I saw the teardrops that he'd hide. He lived his dream through what I'd done-His pride, his joy, his daughter's run.

And now in white, with heart aglow, I walk the path he longed to know. A little girl, a toy, a gleam-Became a doctor... and a dream.
