Storm

Blood drives the body to do better
Starry lights filling up our night sky
Breaths shared beyond the body, the soul
The sun rises among the grace of life
Birds sing sweet songs but none as much as you
Butterflies warm the air with their dance
Know the warmth of the shine is enough
A world where a man can put down his shield
The blade forever dull until the storm
Rain hits the roof and washes away hope
Lightning reminiscent of how people leave
With you at one moment, so quick
Next you know, gone like fading love
Shelter each other from whatever comes our way
Even in the dark of the storm, light is found
Not easy, we may break and shatter ourselves
If there’s anyone to survive, it is definitely us
I promise to look down when I am
But to smile for beauty after the storm
Sun shines off puddles that flooded the ground
The exact same that we are walking upon
The smile returns, we laugh and love
You were never alone and will never again
Through it all, no one else I’d rather go through
The pain is temporary but life is permanent
As I wish for you in my life
