When desire strikes

It does not knock.
It breathes down your neck,
a sudden warmth where stillness lived.

The pulse shifts-
not faster,not louder-
but different,
as if your blood remembers
something
your mind has tried to forget.

The room is unchanged,
but the air now moves with purpose.
A glance lasts too long.
A thought stays too close.

You tell yourself
it is passing.
But desire does not pass.
It waits.
It watches.
And then,it steps in.

Not with fireworks.
Not with promises.
Just presence.
Heavy.
Inevitably.
