The world we knew
disappeared into the world we live in today.
Once,the sky felt wider,
and time moved like a slow river,
carrying laughter and silence in equal measure.
Now,everything pulses-
urgent,electric,
loud in ways we never asked for.
Everything has changed,
but not for the better.
Children dream less,
screens glow more.
We walk past each other,
not seeing,not hearing,
not feeling the tremble of shared
ground beneath us.
The world we knew
was not perfect,
but it was ours.
Now,we drift in something
that looks like progress,
but tastes like loss.
