To hold their hand

As they cross the street

To look for the car

That may hit and run

Every moment every morning

To drop me off to school.

Waiting at the doorway

With hugs and candy

Off to the house scampering. happily

To tie their shoes

Drive thru town with snacks and drinks

Or banks and pension offices

They always hug me smile with glee

Tears in my eyes

I enjoy these moments that make

There is a child in them

That needs patience and care

That I love to see
