I see dark clouds looming gloomily,
Over deserted grounds
That were once lively.
I hear faint cries of people dying;
And somewhere, I could hear children
Laughing and playing,
Celebrating life as does a fighter;
Their joys echoing in their laughter,
As if oblivious to life's grim reality,
In truth though,
They are aware of its gravity.
But despite the pain and gloom,
Their undying strength
Ignores the doom;
As they filled the vacuums with smiles,
To march the extra miles.
Amidst the darkest night;
Stretched a ray of light,
That says of their unyielding Hope;
Hope that will take them thus far!
