Sad Passenger (Tavi)

Do you remember when we were just sad passengers on a bus heading towards happiness?
And, do you remember all the sad faces we met,
and that the sun was the only one who smiled back at us?
Honey, tell me,
don’t you remember how we used to talk to the wind?

Do you remember its loving and polite answers?
And, do you remember the day it perched on your nose
and you could then feel peace within?

Though the old Beverly’s bus did not stop,
that was the day the wind set you free from me;
I knew I shouldn’t have given you the window seat
from which you leap, and into the cold arms of
the death you fall like sleep.

Your flight was tall
The driver’s heart was twice as hard as you fall.
The sound of your skull crashing against the hard asphalt
didn’t bring the wheels to a halt at all;
Instead, they just kept ongoing.
then for seconds, the violent wind ceased its blowing,
but soon return, and, wearing a much thicker skin,
it perched on my nose,
But up from my seat I quickly arose
‘cause I didn’t want to be another victim of this murderous wind.
