Some years ago, we purely by chance
met Al and Carol at a Friday dance.
And from that sunny encounter that Fall
we have pleasant memories to recall.

Her gentle sparkling blue eyes beguiled
and beamed the more whene’er she smiled.
So many attributes we could record;
she gave us memories as our reward.

With Al and Carol we’ve shared delights
attending dances and opera nights.
We’re glad we knew her - could call her friend;
the pleasant memories are dividend.

Together we tutored in high school math
enjoyed our journey on that goodly path.
She treated the students with kind respect,
and they’ve pleasant memories to recollect.

Her loss is, though a blessed release from pain,
a waste to those who on Earth remain;
but our dear Carol has this November
left pleasant memories we can remember.

Our ships of life sailed side by side
in following seas before she died.
Commending her soul with saddened tears,
we see pleasant memories in future years.
